American Symphony Orchestra at Bard College
Year two of the American Symphony Orchestra's Beethoven celebration! In 2010–11, the Fisher Center's orchestra-in-residence performs the Sixth through Ninth symphonies—some of the most beautiful symphonic music ever written—in the acoustically exquisite Sosnoff Theater. Other works include Rachmaninoff's rarely performed First Piano Concerto; and songs by Jean Sibelius, whose work and world will be the focus of the 22nd Bard Music Festival.
